In the days of the Old Testament Israel was repeatedly forgetting the true God and embracing idolatry and Eastern religion. Bible prophecy foretells the same thing for the professing church in the last days. "And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables" (II Timothy 4:4).
Transcendental meditation, with its dangerous interactions with the spirit world, is being repackaged in pseudo-Bible terms and presented to unsuspecting church-goers as the way to find God. Ancient Pagan concepts like pantheism have been spliced into religious teachings today so that the Jesus being preached is no longer the Jesus of the Bible.
It is imperative to believe the Bible message concerning the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The Gospel of John gives us a book-long focus on this unique person, the Son of God. It is not that He is "a" god, and that we are all on a journey to being gods like him. He is declared to be the Almighty, the Lord of lords, the Creator of the universe, the one true and eternal God. To corrupt this message with New Age doctrines (that are really revamped teachings of old idol worshipping religions) robs people of the saving power of the Gospel. God's Salvation comes only by believing God's truth.
What is an increasing religious trend today will become a full-blown global religious structure in the near future according to Bible prophecy. One of the big issues God has with planet Earth in the (prophetic) Book of the Revelation is that men have built a worldwide religious institution to the exclusion of Jesus Christ. There will be a global failure to honour the person revealed in the Bible as God's only begotten Son.
Whether it be in the coming completion, or the present building stage of the New World Order and its religious institution, everyone involved will one day face the God who warns us about it in his Word. "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities" (Revelation 18:4-5)
